Stand Up (Interactive Poetry)

Another person on facebook  gave me three words for my interactive poetry. The words they gave me were (Integrity, Tolerance, and Namaste.) and heres what I came up with.

Stand Up

To live a life with integrity
Is no easy task in this world
Many of us seek a higher entity
And some of us just watch it all unfurl
Yet some stand up for what’s right
Preaching equality and tolerance
Both during the day and at night
Refusing to let justice die in silence
And so those with authority may look down
Upon them with disdain
They may try to drive them out of town
May go so far as to bring them pain
But so long as injustice exists
they will continue to speak
Even threatened with bodily harm they will not desist
Because they are the strong and the weak
So when those who want them to disappear
Come to them to do what they may
They calmly look at their oppressors as peers
And they smile and say Namaste
